Ever
since
battlegrounds
showed
up
in
World
of
Warcraft,
there
hasn't
been
a
lot
of
interest
in
world
PvP
among
WoW
players.
Now
Blizzard
is
setting
out
to
change
that.
The
developer
has
recently
announced
that
the
new
1.12
patch
for
World
of
Warcraft
will
introduce
outdoor
PvP
objectives
to
help
renew
interest
in
world
PvP.
These
new
objectives
are
titled
A
Game
of
Towers
and
The
Silithyst
Must
Flow.
A
Game
of
Towers
takes
place
in
the
Eastern
Plaguelands
and
has
Horde
and
Alliance
players
vying
for
control
over
key
strategic
points
that
are
represented
by
four
towers.
In
The
Silithyst
Must
Flow,
the
two
warring
factions
will
have
to
collect
a
strange
red
dust
called
Silithyst.
This
is a
premise
that
many
players
made
fun
of
and
compared
to
Dune.
It
looks
like
Blizzard
is
running
with
the
comparison
and
turning
it
into
an
homage
to
the
popular
sci-fi
series.
Since
both
objectives
are
non-instanced
scenarios,
you'll
have
to
contend
with
all
the
dangers
that
roam
these
areas.
This
means
not
only
will
you
partake
in
PvP,
you'll
also
have
to
keep
an
eye
out
for
roving
mobs
of
Plague
Bats
and
Scourge
in
the
Plaguelands
and
Sand
Worms
in
Silithus.
Both
areas
are
outdoor
zones
with
some
of
the
most
high-level
NPC
enemies
you
can
find
in
World
of
Warcraft.
So
far,
no
release
date
has
been
announced
for
the
new
1.12
patch,
but
you
can
get
a
sneak
peak
right
now
on
the
Test
Realms.
