Blizzard
announced
today
that
World
of
Warcraft
has
achieved
over
two
million
subscribers
worldwide.
In
addition
to
the
milestone,
Blizzard
has
launched
the
player
vs.
player
system
and
the
first
two
battlegrounds,
Alterac
Valley
and
Warsong
Gulch.
The
new
battlegrounds
are
said
to
offer
fast
paced
combat
and
new
unique
rewards.

of
Warcraft
continues
to
surpass
all
expectations
as
gamers
around
the
world
embrace
it
with
overwhelming
support,"
said

Morhaime,
president
and
co-founder
of
Blizzard
Entertainment.

With
over
two
million
subscribers,
World
of
Warcraft
is
currently
the
largest
MMO
in
North
America
and
Europe.
Blizzard
expects
greater
growth
with
the
recent
launch
in
China,
who
had
a
peak
concurrency
of
over
500,000
players
during
the
open
beta
testing.
With
launches
in
Taiwan,
Hong
Kong
and
Macau,
Blizzard
continues
to
develop
new
content
to
keep
the
exciting
for
new
and
already
existing
players.
With
Battlegrounds
introduced,
Blizzard
