Several years have
passed since the Burning Legion's defeat at
Mount Hyjal and the races of Azeroth have
continued to rebuild their once shattered lives.
With renewed strength, the heroes of the Horde
and Alliance have begun to explore new lands and
broken through the Dark Portal to investigate
the realms beyond the known world. Will these
heroes find friends or foes? What dangers and
rewards lie in wait beyond the Dark Portal? And
what will they do when they discover that the
demons they thought vanquished have returned to
renew their terrible Burning Crusade?

Burning Crusade FAQ.
New races
The Burning Crusade expansion contains two new
playable races:
Blood elf -- A faction of former Alliance
members join the Horde in the expansion. They
are led by Regent Lord Lor'themar Theron. Blood
Elf capital is Silvermoon City. Their racial
mount is the bird-like hawkstrider and their
language is Thalassian.
Draenei -- A faction of uncorrupted eredar join
the Alliance. They are led by their prophet,
Velen. The draenei capital city is The Exodar.
Their racial mount is the elephant-like elekk
and their language is Draenei.
The expansion also allows previously
faction-exclusive classes to be played on the
opposing faction, with the inclusion of Horde
blood elf paladins and Alliance draenei shaman.
New mounts
Each new race received its own new mount:
Blood elf -- a hawkstrider (originally called a
cockatrice). These mounts can be found outside
the entrance to Silvermoon City. Blood elf
paladin mounts, are the same as alliance though
they are red instead of the alliance blue.
Draenei -- an elekk ("a creature with a
resemblance to a caparisoned war elephant" -
GameSpot). These mounts can be found outside The
Exodar.
New mounts are also available via drop from
high-end instances such as Karazhan.[2]
Flying mounts
Main article: Flying Mount
Flying mounts are only useable in Outland at
level 70. The Horde and Alliance have the wyvern
and gryphon, respectively, as standard mounts.
The epic mounts are the armored wyvern and
armored gryphon.
In addition there are rare mounts such as
netherdrake and swift Nether Drake.[3] An
armored nether drake can be obtained by ranking
in the top 0.5% at the end of an Arena season,
and the unarmored netherdrake can be obtained
through a series of quests.
Normal flying mount training costs 800 and the
mount costs 100 . Training for flying mounts
requires a skill of 150 (epic mount) and brings
it up to 225. The epic version of the flying
mount cost 5000 for the training and 200 to buy.
Training for epic flying mounts requires 225
riding skill and upgrades it to 300.
Druids receive Flight Form at level 68 that
offers the ability to fly and has a speed
equivalent to a normal flying mount.[4] Druids
may obtain a quest at level 70 to obtain an epic
flight form.[5] Purchasing riding skill 300 is a
requirement for the quest

Socketed items
With the release of World of Warcraft: The
Burning Crusade, many core aspects of the game
will be improved, expanding the choices
available to players and streamlining some
gameplay elements. For example, new raid
encounters are being designed for a maximum of
25 players, and the PvP system will change how
honor works in the game. Following this general
strategy of making gameplay even more rewarding
and expanding the playing experience with new,
interesting content, the professions of World of
Warcraft are also set to receive major updates
to ensure that they remain a fun and worthwhile
part of your adventures in Azeroth and beyond.
When the time came to begin the professions
update for the expansion, the dev team took a
very close look at all the work that had gone
into the profession system so far. There were
some things the team felt could be improved in
World of Warcraft's professions to make them
more interesting, more valid, and most
importantly, even more fun. The expansion will
allow the dev team to upgrade the profession
system, and to provide players with cool new
gadgets, equipment, and consumables that will
help them brave the many challenges of Outland.
On the following pages, you'll find a brief
summary of what changes you can expect to see in
World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade for each
profession. Keep in mind that there is always a
chance that these plans may change, but this is
what's on the drawing board at the moment.
